How we work
- We want to work together with our members, parents and carers and we hope you will feel welcomed and valued from your very first day.
- Communication books are offered to each member upon joining our service. This enables us to keep in contact with parents/carers daily with what we have been doing whilst at the centre each day and for home to communicate any important information they would like us to be aware of.
- We will arrange a review after six weeks of joining our service to ensure our members have settled in well. We will then review every six months where we will discuss any changes that may have occurred, outcomes that have been achieved and new goals to work towards.
- We would like to make situations that can sometimes be difficult a little easier if we can. Should members have a professional appointment to attend, i.e. doctor, dentist, on a day they are due to attend our service, we may be able to support to attend the appointment if practicable to do so, i.e. the appointment is within proximity of the centre and a request for support has been given with sufficient time to arrange staff cover.
Daily Routine
We have an extensive weekly activity plan which is designed to meet our members’ needs. When necessary our activity plan will be changed every 6-8 weeks to ensure we provide varied activities and new opportunities for our members.
We go out on lots of community outings and welcome suggestions and input from members to plan these activities around their hobbies and interests. Members will not be charged for these outings. However, personal monies should be used if you wish to purchase a drink or any item whilst out in the community.
